Each of our team members has an extensive background of C-Level executive roles and leadership in start-up and growth financing and M&A transactions. These members have complementary skills and networks having collaborated on many projects - the result is a readiness to undertake new projects efficiently to provide time and resource leverage to company management teams and their investor sponsors.
John Dexheimer - President
John has advised on over 100 completed company financings and mergers in software, communications, electronics and materials. He has extensive history with venture capital investing as a co-investor and advisor on portfolio firms of many of the well know, active investors in technology sectors. He has helped found startups and has a record of initiating and structuring successful private investments for affiliated equity funds. He has had several part-time operating roles in startups and mature technology firms with revenue of up to $400 million in addition to serving on several Boards of public and private firms, including PLI which was acquired by Ford’s Argo AI for its LIDAR for autonomous vehicles.
He has been a GP since 2003 of First Analysis Private Equity Fund IV, and previously was a partner in several angel and VC funds. As an investment banker, he led the IPO of several firms including Uniphase (now Lumentum) and subsequently managed the equity research, covering technology and healthcare sectors. Prior to 1990, John was in the software sector with GE, DRI and Broadview International. He earned an MBA from Harvard University and a B.S. from the University of Minnesota, College of Science and Engineering where he is on the Dean’s Advisory. He is a Mentor at the EFL NYU accelerator focused on Deeptech early stage firms. has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Yale, a board member of several private firms and on the corporate and start-up advisory boards of major trade groups such as OPTICA/OSA, OIDA and SPIE in optics and sensing.
Dr. Yves Dzialowski
Yves is a multi-time CEO, and currently aCompany Advisor, Board Member.Yves served as CEO and Chairman of Princeton Lightwave Inc. from 2003 to 2017 Following its 2017 acquisition by Argo.AI, a subsidiary of Ford, he served as Executive Advisor. He oversaw the transition of PLI from a communications diode laser manufacturer into developing a range advanced single-photon detectors for high precision sensing. Upstream systems applications included quantum communications, bio-chemical imaging, and advanced LIDAR for military, avionics and automotive customers. Thanks to adding system integration and software analytical capabilities, the auto industry sought out their LIDAR systems and capabilities to addresses one of the most challenging applications in computer science, robotics, and artificial intelligence: virtual driving systems that enable vehicles to be fully autonomous in long-range complex environments.
Prior to Princeton Lightwave, Yves was Senior VP, Strategy and Business Development, at JDS-Uniphase Corporation (JDSU). Yves was the President and Chief Operating Officer at EPITAXX Inc., a supplier of detectors and receivers for optical networks that was acquired by JDSU in 1999.Yves has also served on the boards of several high technology photonics companies and advises companies in both the EU and US. He received a Doctorate in Optics from the University of Paris in 1977. He currently splits his time between Princeton, NJ and Paris France.
Gary Gerttula
Gary is an accomplished international executive with 30+ years of operations, strategy and business development experience and change management. He brings a strong accounting background and analytic framework from his early career years at Arthur Anderson and McKinsey and Co. He brings a diverse industry background in technology (software, internet, semiconductors, data analytics, neural networks and deep learning), media (online publishing, special effects/post production), and financial services (hedge funds, venture lending/leasing, equipment leasing).
As CEO or advisor, he has identified and closed over 30 deals totaling over $500 million including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, debt and equity. Currently he is an advisor to a data science firm using optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence for large industry solutions, a startup in neural networks/deep learning, and a leader in material science. In recent years he established the SF based Digital Garage Incubator affiliate of a large Asian internet payment systems and media firm; was interim COO of an education non-profit; CEO of an India based analytics software firm, was turnaround CEO of a visual effects firm; was start-up CEO for an IP patent consulting firm, and has been CEO of two healthcare services/information businesses. He holds a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from Harvard University.
Sabbir Rangwala
Sabbir Rangwala provides C-Level and board advisory on complex systems innovation and roll-outs specializing in perception, sensing, and machine learning for movement automation. Prior to founding Patience Consulting in 2017, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Princeton Lightwave, which transitioned from a defense component supplier to a leading automotive LiDAR player, resulting in an acquisition by Ford’s Argo.ai. Prior to this, Sabbir worked in various executive operational leadership roles in the optical and photonics sectors for 25 years, including at PLI, JDSU (now Lumentum) and AT&T Bell Labs. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, a certificate in Artificial Intelligence from MIT, an MS in ME from University of Texas, and a B. of Engineering from University of Mumbai.
Dave Heinemann
David has provided financial advisory services to clients in the software and information industry for over 30 years. In 2011, Mr. Heinemann, along with an investment sponsor, acquired CJIS GROUP, an information analytics business focused on government and healthcare procurement, where he is currently the CEO. He has an expertise in US Federal government information and technology systems trends and relations. He has participated in some 50 merger, acquisition, and financing transactions as principal or advisor in the software, Internet services, publishing, and systems integration sectors. As a strategic advisor, Mr. Heinemann takes an active role with his clients and in some cases takes on an interim management role to reposition a client's business for success and to improve its content based product offering or infrastructure. Dave was previously with Broadview Associates where he and John worked together. Dave holds a MBA from Columbia University and a Sc.B. in Physics from Brown University.
Jay Liebowitz
Jay Liebowitz has over 25 years of marketing and sales expertise in the fields of optics and semiconductors that have been innovators in lasers, LiDAR, communications, and advanced manufacturing. He excels at strategy and hands-on execution and has a history serving firms located in the US, Europe, and Asia. Jay has helped these firms grow, raise valuations and capital, and realize attractive exits having been involved in a senior role in 12 corporate events worth more than $1.5 billion. Recent positions that Jay has held include the following: Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Princeton Lightwave (acquired by Argo AI); VP of Marketing and Sales at TeraDiode (acquired by Panasonic Welding); VP of Business Development at Vescent Photonics (acquired by Analog Devices); Executive Vice President at Teem Photonics. In addition to advisory roles, he is CEO of Norcon Technologies, which is commercializing IP on photonic polymer technology for infrared applications. Jay holds a BS in physics from MIT and an MBA from Wharton.
